Euricse and ICA are announsing the organization of the International conference:
“Promoting the understanding of cooperatives for a better world”
March 15-16, 2012 at San Servolo, Venice – Italy
The United Nations has proclaimed 2012 the International Year of Cooperative and next year numerous initiatives will be carried out worldwide with the goal of raising public awareness and enhancing the visibility of cooperatives. Consistently with its mission, Euricse in collaboration with ICA is organizing the international Conference that aims at contributing to better explaining cooperative enterprises’ role in modern market economies.
The Conference “Promoting the understanding of cooperatives for a better world” will take place in Venice, Italy on March 15 and 16, 2012. Eminent scholars are invited to write in-depth analyses on agreed upon issues related to cooperatives and subsequently present them. The Conference is organized in 5 sessions focused on i) the recent theoretical developments contributing to explaining cooperatives; ii) the spaces of engagement of cooperatives in the current international architecture; iii) the limits of market and cooperatives’ regulations; iv) the new and old roles covered by the various types of cooperatives that are engaged in crucial economic sectors; vi) the role of cooperatives for the economic development and social cohesion.
